Job Description - Custodian

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures a safe, clean, and organized work environment that meets company and regulatory standards. Duties include cleaning production areas, breakrooms, restrooms, and offices, as well as handling minor maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of manufacturing and warehouse floors, equipment exteriors, and workstations.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize all production and non-production areas.
Empty and clean trash and recycling containers throughout the facility.
Clean and restock restrooms and break areas.
Follow proper cleaning procedures and chemical handling practices according to company safety guidelines (e.g., SDS).
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed.
Operate floor scrubbers and other custodial equipment safely and effectively.
Respond to spills and sanitation issues promptly to prevent hazards or production delays.
Support special cleaning projects such as deep cleans, seasonal maintenance, or audits.
Communicate with supervisors about safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or supply needs.
Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA standards.
Ability and willingness to complete other duties as assigned.
This role involves cross-training opportunities in other departments to enhance skills and support team needs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners).
Basic knowledge of cleaning agents and chemical safety.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.

Monday- Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
