Day Custodian – GEO Prep Baker

Position Summary:
The Day Custodian ensures the cleanliness and safety of school facilities during daytime hours. The role includes routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to create a healthy and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors in classrooms and hallways.
  
  
• Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly throughout the day.
  
  
• Empty trash cans and dispose of waste properly.
  
  
• Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
  
  
• Support lunchroom cleaning and garbage disposal.
  
  
• Clean windows, doors, walls, and light fixtures as assigned.
  
  
• Assist with receiving and moving supplies or deliveries.
  
  
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor around students and staff.
  
  
• Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately to the lead custodian or supervisor.
  
  

 Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.  

• Custodial or janitorial experience is a plus.  
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.  
• Must be able to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.  
• Must pass background check and clearance as required by Louisiana schools.
