Custodian

Reports To: Facilities Manager

Employee Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Under general supervision, but in line with established PC&HC policies and procedures, performs a wide variety of duties, including cleaning and stocking of janitorial supplies and maintaining the organization’s facilities.

Essential Functions

• Represent PC&HC to the employees and guest in a courteous and professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service.
• Perform custodial duties as directed including, but not limited to, cleaning bathrooms, sweep, mop and vacuum floors, empty trash, stairs, fixtures, clean windows/blinds and dust furniture.
• Help perform preventative and routine maintenance of facility and equipment as directed and as needed.
• Replenish all bathroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
• Water plants.
• Install light bulbs, paint and touch up walls as needed
• Assist with PC&HC landscape as needed.
• Maintain outside walk and drive areas, including snow removal.
• Manage time effectively and prioritizes completing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Treats all health center and employee information confidentially and in accordance with established guidelines.
• Improve the patient experience and health care processes and help assure the provision of high quality health care, as well as an ongoing process of performance improvement.

• Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• General knowledge of cleaning.
• Operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools used in the area of work assigned.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Occupational hazards and standard safety practices required in area of work.
• Must follow all HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
• Must be able to perform heavy lifting (at least 50 pounds), standing, climbing.
• Must be supportive of our mission in order to provide healthcare to the underinsured and uninsured.
