Custodian for Parishes & Schools (NE)

St. Mary's Parish and Schools, located in Annapolis, MD, seek candidates for a Custodian for Parish and Schools. The Custodian will be part of our Facilities team that is responsible for cleaning both the schools and the churches. Candidate will need to possess a driver's license and have a vehicle for transportation to our other campuses. This position reports directly to the Facilities Manager and works collaboratively with other facilities staff.  Must have availability to respond to on-call emergencies. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Essential Functions

• Cleans Church, parish office, community spaces, and school buildings.


• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors as needed, replenishing restroom supplies.


• Knowledgeable regarding sanitizing rooms, including bathrooms.


• Washes walls and windows, removes dust and debris as needed.


• Select equipment and materials for cleaning, replenishes supplies in buildings as needed.


• Removes trash from inside the buildings and from the grounds.


• Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters and bulbs.

Position Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.


• Must have a valid Maryland driver's license with no more than 3 points.


• Previous cleaning experience is preferred.


• Knowledge of safety standards for use of cleaning equipment and products preferred.


• Must be able to read and follow directions of supervisor.


• Ability to climb stairs while carrying equipment and supplies


• Must be able to lift objects up to 50 pounds.


• Must be able to work in difficult weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow and rain.

Pay Range:  $17.00 - $21.00, Hourly
