Custodian (Kapolei Oahu)

We are looking to hire a highly motivated individual, dependable, trustworthy, good customer service and detail-oriented to join Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM). The full-time Custodian position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the building based on assigned cleaning duties located at a Kapolei retail center. 

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness of assigned duties (Walk around property to sweep, dust, mop, scrub, wipe down areas, and clean parking lot)


• Follow safety procedures


• Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, vendors and property manager


• Restock cleaning supplies


• Empty trash receptacles and in planters, wastebaskets, recyclables and properly dispose to designated area.


• Wipe down benches and storefront window ledges


• Remove trash left on floors, parking lot, walk paths, and storefronts


• Drive a golf cart


• Use of a ladder to climb up and down steps


• Use a handheld blower


• Inspect and clean roof drains


• Multi-task, work efficiently both independently and as a team


• Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times


• Report safety issues or building problems (i.e. burnt light bulbs, etc.)


• Notify appropriate HBM employees of the supplies and equipment that are needed for cleaning duties.


• Perform all other duties as assigned

Schedule:

• Sunday 4:00am to 12:30pm


• Monday 11:30am to 8pm


• Tuesday 11:30am to 8pm


• Wednesday - Day off


• Thursday  - Day off


• Friday: 6:00am to 2:30pm


• Saturday: 4:00am to 12:30pm

Compensation: $16.50/per hour

Skills/Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED preferred


• Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train.


• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English


• Must have good public relations skills and communication


• Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, stair and ladder climbing and stand throughout their shifts.
