The Customer Design Technician consults EPB customers andimplements electric system solutions to meet their needs. This includesdesigning basic work to serve new customers and to improve and maintain EPB'sinfrastructure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Respond to customer requests, includingtelephone communications, emails, site visits, and face-to-face meetings.Document communications in a standard format so that other EPB personnel canaccess them, such as the CIS electric account (Enquesta) Employ EPB data systems to designfacilities-based solutions to meet the needs of EPB customers. Data systemsinclude Enquesta for communication and order entry, PowerPlan, and GTech forwork orders. CAD for work management Apply common standards and best practices forfacilities-based solutions. Specifically, apply EPB construction and designstandards, EPB service policies, and general EPB practices related to therequest Modify EPB electric system facilities including,but not limited to, outdoor lighting, pole replacements/relocations, and basicto intermediate overhead and UG distribution facilities Update EPB's Customer Information Systems withrelevant data for the electric accounts Facilitate internal requests regardingfacilities, accounts, and customer communications Monitor time and schedule to maximize customerservice and individual productivity Participate during system emergencies such asstorm restoration by scouting incidents and providing field information to EPBdispatch personnel EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma, GED Certificate, orequivalent experience required. Associate degree in a relevant technical fieldpreferred Basic understanding of electrical distributionconstruction facilities and theory Proficiency in using standard business software,such as Microsoft Office Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and specific EPBpackages (Enquesta, GTECH, GTViewer) preferred Knowledge of entry-level technical applicationspreferred CERTIFICATION(S) & OTHER REQUIREMENTS Possess and maintain a current, valid driver'slicense in state of residence and demonstrate safe and responsible operation ofmotor vehicles. Must operate motor vehicles during normal working hours toperform various assigned tasks Strong written and oral speaking skills to shareideas and collaborate with internal and external engineers and customers Ability to take on new challenges and learn newskills as needed Communication, decision-making,mechanical aptitude, and customer service skills
