INTERNAL JOB POSTING – FOR CURRENT WTCPL STAFF ONLY Customer Service Assistant – Eastwood Branch (Part-Time) Application Deadline: June 20, 2025 Location: Eastwood Branch (Eastwood Mall, Niles, OH)
We are excited to announce internal hiring for five part-time Customer Service Assistant (CSA) positions at our brand-new Eastwood Branch, opening September 2025, in the Eastwood Mall!
Available Positions:
4 positions at 25 hours/week
1 position at 20 hours/week

About the Eastwood Branch:
Location: JCPenney concourse of the Eastwood Mall (former GNC storefront), near the Mercy Health space and children’s play area
The new 2,500 sq. ft. branch will offer popular library services and programs in a highly accessible, community-centered space.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Participates in routine public service by circulating materials to customers, including checking materials in/out, placing holds, registering borrowers, and collecting fines/fees
Provides basic reference and reader’s advisory services to customers of all ages
Assists in general branch operations, including opening/closing the circulation desk or building, counting money and balancing cash register, planning displays, shelving materials, and shelf reading
Performs clerical tasks related to SearchOhio and interlibrary loan (ILL) processing, including searching lists, checking in, and labeling items
Answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries, directs calls, and uses the public address system (where applicable)
Maintains photocopiers, assists patrons with use, and reports service issues as needed
Assists patrons with public computers and online catalog terminals, troubleshoots minor technical issues, opens IT help desk tickets, and refers advanced issues appropriately
Helps customers download electronic resources to various personal devices
Informs customers about library services and directs them to appropriate departments or locations
Applies library policies effectively in a variety of public service situations
Supports Youth Services by assisting with storytime and program signups, processing reading logs, and distributing reading incentives
Processes returned mail, mails out policy forms, enters patron registration data, and maintains application files
