Job Description - Customer Service - Production Control

Description

  

Combined role as Customer Service / Production Control. This position plays a key role in ensuring a seamless flow of information between customers, production, and internal departments. In a fast-paced environment focused on the manufacturing of precision motors, this role helps uphold our commitment to product excellence, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Position requires strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to coordinate multiple responsibilities—from order entry to production scheduling—while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries related to orders, product availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Accurately enter and manage customer orders in the ERP system, ensuring all specifications and requirements are clearly      documented.
  • Provide timely updates on order status, delays, or changes, working closely with production and shipping teams.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of company products and processes to provide informed support.
  • Address customer concerns with a focus on quick, effective, and courteous resolution.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by understanding their needs and exceeding service expectations.

Production Control

  • Create and maintain production work orders for custom and standard motor builds, coordinating with engineering and production leads.
  • Monitor production schedules and capacity to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Track material availability and coordinate with purchasing to avoid delays.
  • Update the ERP system with real-time progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes or priority shifts.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and purchasing to maintain accurate inventory and material availability.
  • Assist in preparing daily or weekly production reports and performance metrics.
  • Support efforts to improve scheduling accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing reports related to production status, backlog, and delivery performance.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required; coursework in supply chain, business, or related field is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer service and/or production planning role, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Microsoft AX, Epicor, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, customer-focused attitude.
