Job Description - Customer Service Representative

Description

Petroglyph Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited clinic that has been providing exceptional veterinary care to Albuquerque’s families for over 20 years. We strive to provide quality veterinary medicine and surgery to all clients and their pets in a timely, friendly and professional manner. We treat all animals as valued members of our families and of our community.

We are currently looking for a Customer Service Representative to work alongside our experienced doctors, technicians and CSRs to offer the best in patient care and client communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: greet clients as they enter the clinic, assist clients quickly and professionally, answer telephones, schedule appointments, answer client questions, document messages for doctors and management, take payments and enter payment information into Avimark
  • Knowledge: assess patient’s needs, recognize an emergency situation and when to seek help, understand hospital protocols, including those for vaccines, laboratory tests and basic principles of animal care
  • Cleaning: maintain general cleanliness of the hospital, use proper cleaning and disinfection protocols
  • Documentation: keep accurate and detailed records about patients and clients, ensure documents are complete and signed, prepare, file and purge charts according to hospital protocol
  • Communication: maintain excellent lines of communication with clients, CSRs, other technicians, management and Doctors
  • Other: assist in all other areas of the hospital as needed

Requirements

Skills Required:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to work as a team

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Customer Service Experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of typing, using a computer mouse and looking at a computer screen
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs of pet food
  • Exposure to anesthetic gases and x-rays. (Proper protective equipment is provided, and its use is mandatory)
