Job Description - Customer Service Representative (Distribution Sales Desk)


  

Summary and Purpose:

In the role of Customer Service Representative, you will assume responsibility for generating quotes, processing orders, and actively participating in cross-functional teamwork with departments including Engineering, Production Control/Manufacturing, and Accounting. Success in this role hinges on your robust organizational and communication abilities, fostering a collaborative team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Source and Purchase, including processing of Multiple Requisitions and Procurement Orders to meet customer requirements from key vendors and alternate sources as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, and Accounting.
  • Generate quotes for standard products and handle special product entries.
  • Assist with general office administrative tasks as needed.

STARTING WAGE:

  • $20-25/hour, depending on experience.
  • Overtime pay after 40 hours.

SCHEDULE:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (negotiable)
  • Normal shift: 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
  • Approximate weekly hours: 40-42 hours on average.

Requirements

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a full-time, in-person position based at our Antioch, TN distribution facility. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills, with proficiency in common office software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

PREFERRED QUALITIES:

  • 2+ years of order entry and customer service experience.
  • Prior experience in an order entry role within an industrial distribution or similar distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with tool and die manufacturing.
  • Making procurement decisions, freight and international trade experience.

Salary Description

$20 - $25/hour DOE
