Job Description - Customer Service Specialist

Description

Summary

Answer incoming calls in a call-center atmosphere, solve problems, process orders, and provide exceptional service for customers.

  • Answer incoming calls in a call-center atmosphere, solve problems, process orders, and provide exceptional service for customers.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls, solve problems, process orders, and provide exceptional service for customers.
  • Provides delivery information on customer orders.
  • Provide stock information for customer inquiries.
  • Give pricing information when account number provided.
  • Establish new accounts using specific guidelines.
  • Process cutting for approval, cutting, hold only, and memo requests.
  • Process replacement orders.
  • Process claims for customer returns and pricing discrepancies.
  • Generate look ups for expediters to obtain information for customer relating to existing order or potential/pending orders.
  • Process customer cancellation requests.
  • Process faxed memo/cutting for approval requests when not taking incoming calls.
  • Process faxed fabric orders when required.
  • Interface with other departments to provide good service.
  • Practices safety and good housekeeping.
  • Uses materials and equipment effectively.
  • Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • At least 6 months previous customer service experience.
  • Computer and 10-key skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Well organized and have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Superb interpersonal skills .
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to handle stress in a high volume office.
