Position Summary
Customer Service Supervisors are responsible for providing support to the warehouse management team by overseeing and organizing customer service processes and billing, and ensuring procedures are followed and customer requirements are met. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of warehouse operations, efficient, able to work independently, and maintain a safe working environment, while implementing best practices that support the continued growth of Palmer Logistics and H. Essers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the administrative activities of customer orders to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.
Participate in the selection of new hires by interviewing and evaluating skillset following Company guidelines.
Assist management in establishing customer service training programs.
Assist management in proper training and evaluation of Account Specialists.
Ensure Account Specialist is following established procedures or policies.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding office operations.
Participate in corrective actions from internal or external non-conformances by helping determine root cause and recommending improvements.
Address customer complaints in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate with Warehouse Manager on critical issues that affect the operation.
Ensure Account Specialist is provided training on customer accounts, as necessary.
Provide recommendations to management to improve operations and procedures.
Responsible for checking rates against applicable contractual warehouse agreements.
Control and maintenance of office supplies and equipment, if applicable.
Assist with maintaining and updating the computer software system.
Assist with setup, maintenance and billing of customer accounts in collaboration with Account Management.
Qualifications
5 years' experience in logistics environment
At least 2+ years of supervisor/management experience
Bachelor's degree in related field, such as supply chain, logistics or business a plus
Lean Six Sigma knowledge and certification preferred
Highschool Diploma or G.E.D.
Read, write and speak English
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
