Customer Support Technician (Contract, On Site)

Location: Austin, TX

New Iron is seeking a Customer Support Technician to support mechanical assembly, installation prep, and movement of semiconductor equipment and components in a customer fab environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly and subassembly of equipment, modules, and components


• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices to complete assigned work


• Read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, procedures, and checklists


• Support equipment staging, installation preparation, material movement, and site readiness


• Assist with equipment leveling, alignment, and basic mechanical adjustments


• Verify component quality and flag discrepancies or defects


• Follow all EHS requirements and work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and field teams

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude; experience with hand tools and basic measuring equipment


• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials consistent with the role

Preferred

• Semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor equipment experience


• Equipment installation or manufacturing-build support


• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, or electro-mechanical assemblies


• Familiarity with Lean / continuous improvement practices
