Customer Zone Technician I\n\nJob ID: CUSTO013953 \nJob Title: Customer Zone Technician I \nLocation: 418 HARE ROAD, CROSBY, TX 77532 \nUnion: CWA 6171 - CBA 048 \nHiring Manager: Michael Isaacs \n# of Openings: 1 \nPosting Dates: 04/09/2026 - 04/23/2026 \nWage Range: $19.29 - $41.20 per hour\n\nSummary: \nPerforms tasks necessary for service order and repair activity associated with sealed/ unseated network facilities (copper and fiber) from central office frames to CPE systems. Provide installation and maintenance of voice, data, and ancillary equipment, and network services. Installs, maintains, rearranges, repairs and removes cables, terminals and other associated apparatus in the outside and inside plant network. Performs other duties as required.\n\nGeneral Duties: \nDuties include, but are not limited to, the following: \n\u2022 Installs, removes, rearranges, programs, tests, troubleshoots and maintains voice, data and ancillary equipment and network services. \n\u2022 Installs, maintains and repairs outside and inside plant equipment/facilities and inside wire. Locates cable and associated equipment faults, effects repair and restores service outages. Performs cable pair recovery activity. \n\u2022 Interfaces with customer to further analyze installation and repair issues. Responds to inquiries and provides follow-up. \n\u2022 Interprets schematic work order drawings to determine job specifications and installation needs. Orders and/or obtains required equipment. Effects problem solving where appropriate. \n\u2022 Utilizes various test equipment to analyze equipment trouble and takes appropriate maintenance action. \n\u2022 Operates standard and aerial lift vehicles and manual, hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, electronic, gasoline, propane and power actuated tools and equipment. \n\u2022 May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. \n\u2022 Per our Company policy, and consistent with the weight specifications of equipment used to work aloft, candidates cannot exceed 275 pounds, this is inclusive of clothing and with proper footwear.\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 Tests- Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy. \n\u2022 Ability to identify and distinguish audible tones/levels and colors. \n\u2022 Ability to work in confined areas. \n\u2022 Ability to lift and carry tool boxes, drop wire, parts containers and installation loads, test equipment, generators, manhole/pullbox covers, etc. \n\u2022 Ability to climb poles/ladders. \n\u2022 Ability to lift, carry, set-up, climb and take down ladders. \n\u2022 Ability to communicate naturally and pleasantly over the telephone and/or in person. \n\u2022 Requires alertness and attention to detail. Ability to work under stress. \n\u2022 A valid driver\u0027s license. Able to meet medical and driver certification. Requirements as established by the DOT Federal Highway Safety Act. Not restricted to daylight hours. May require more specialized driver\u0027s License, such as Chauffeur\u0027s License, based on State Regulations. \n\u2022 Able to read and interpret architectural, electrical wiring diagrams. \n\u2022 Able to operate test equipment such as VOM, test sets, etc. \n\u2022 Exposed to high voltage electrical power lines, explosive and/or flammable liquids and gases, oxygen deficiency, carbon monoxide, lead toxicity and asbestos materials. Works with molten lead and wax. \n\u2022 Ability to qualify for DOD security clearance. \n\u2022 Must be available to work tours as scheduled including weekdays, nights, weekends, holidays and for callouts and/or overtime as required. \n\u2022 One year experience in one or a combination of: Equipment Installer, Cable Splicer, Lineworker, Customer Zone Technician I, Customer Zone Tech II, Fiber Network Field Technician.\n\nEducation: \nDesire a degree in electronics technology, to include successful completion of digital logic, electronic communications, and microprocessor fundamentals from an accredited or recognized educational institution.\n\n \n\n \nWe are deeply committed to attracting talented team members in the US from all backgrounds regardless of race, age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability status, or nationality.
