Cut List/CAD Engineer

Functional Responsibilities:

The broadly defined areas of Cut List/CAD Engineer, include:

1. Achieving Major Operational KPIs
   
   
   
   1. Achieve and maintain key performance targets for:
      
      
      
      1. Ensure jobs are cut listed properly to facilitate smooth installation and minimize rework.
      
      
      2. Ensure machining instructions from Cabinet Vision are working properly and producing error-free parts.
      
      
      3. Assist Purchasing Manager in identifying and ordering materials and special orders to ensure no delays in manufacturing and installation due to material/parts availability.
      
      
      4. Work with Designers to identify any design elements that are unclear or need further explanation.
      
      
      
      
   
   
   
   

1. Computer/CAD/Designs
   
   
   
   1. Be able to read designs/plans and identify exceptions.
   
   
   2. Understand the fundamentals of design and design rules; act as a second check to ensure design will work as presented.
   
   
   3. Have a thorough understanding of CAD software being used.
   
   
   4. Maintain parts/machining libraries and coordinate any changes with manufacturing, sales and installation.
   
   
   5. Ensure all computer equipment is updated, backed-up, and maintained.
   
   
   6. Keep your work area clean and well organized.
   
   
   7. Get cross trained on as many areas of Factory operations as possible.
   
   
   8. Become fork-lift certified in case you need to receive a delivery when Shop personnel are out of the office.
   
   
   9. Be knowledgeable of software utilized to run major manufacturing equipment.
   
   
   
   

1. ClosetWare
   
   
   
   1. Maintain and serve the system and ensure all available cut list projects are completed and updated immediately.
   
   
   2. Report late or incomplete designs/missing paperwork to a supervisor immediately to ensure cut lists are available to shop floor for on-time manufacturing.
   
   
   
   

1. Jobs Ready
   
   
   
   1. Ensure all parts necessary for the installation are clearly identified. These include special orders.
   
   
   2. Work with Purchasing Manager to ensure all special orders and materials are available once production begins.
   
   
   3. Have all open questions or concerns addressed prior to job going to manufacturing floor.
   
   
   4. Ensure all job carts are well identified with client name/number prominently displayed for easy identification.
   
   
   
   

1. Customer Relations
   
   
   
   1. Be available to speak to Customers about questions/concerns they my have regarding their designs and during installation.
   
   
   2. Be a creative problem solver.
   
   
   3. Verify job parts are made per plans.
   
   
   
   

1. Purchasing, Production, Installation and Sales Support
   
   
   
   1. Work with production and installation to ensure all CAD related drawings are correct.
   
   
   2. Review any unclear jobs with sales/management personnel.
   
   
   3. Meet with sales personnel on a regular basis to provide feedback and suggestions for design accuracy.
   
   
   
   

Specific Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Shadow design appointments to assist with new Designer training.


• Assist with measuring jobs through Liberty Closet Systems.


• Build and render Designer hand drawings in Cabinet Vision.


• Follow up with clients through phone calls and email when needed.


• Provide Admin and Clerical support by preparing organized and accurate client files.


• Maintain a professional and positive demeanor.


• Communicate with other office, shop, and installer personnel.
