This is a full-time, on-site position in Miami. FL, M-F from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Purpose

This position involves precise cutting of materials based on specific guidelines and templates, ensuring high-quality samples and production outputs. The cutter's responsibilities are critical to maintaining the efficiency of samples and the quality of the products requested.


Duties

This position involves precise cutting of materials based on specific guidelines and templates, ensuring high-quality samples and production outputs. The cutter's responsibilities are critical to maintaining the efficiency of samples and the quality of the products requested. In addition to providing support to the Technical Desing team as needed in daily technical duties.

• Reading and interpreting development, production technical sheets and patterns.
• Know basic plotter functions, print patterns and cut patterns as needed.
• Inspecting fabric as it arrives, roll fabric, tag fabric and file.
•  Maintain the fabric room organized, clutter free and clean.
•  Maintain an organized and clean work area.
• Able to distribute the cutting among seamstress, helping meet sample due date deadlines.
• Cut all fabric types, know how to lay fabric accordingly to fabric grain.
• Inspecting finished products for quality control and adherence to specifications.
• Collaborating with other production staff to ensure the timely completion of orders.
• Managing inventory of materials and supplies required for cutting processes and for the sample room.
• Maintain an upkeep of the sample room tracking chart.
• Help seamstress take garment apart for special projects and helps in in sewing if needed.
• Assist in technical design duties such as taking fit photos, initiating fit reports, and measuring samples.

Additional Information 

• 3-5 years previous experience
• In depth knowledge and understanding of all fabric types and how these react to help manipulate in cutting.
• Requires minimal physical effort (lift 15-20 lbs)
• Average level of mental effort
• Must be able to work in a team setting environment as well as independently
• Use of sharp tools such as: scissors, rotary cutters, or industrial cutting machines
• Repetitive hand and arm movements
• Prolonged standing, bending over cutting tables, or odd postures
