At Northrop Grumman, you\u2019ll have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a candidate to join our diverse team of engineers, system administrators, and operators as a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer professional in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will be expected to monitor, maintain, and provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 support of a mission critical network infrastructure, collect data for analysis, perform network upgrades, and be able to produce documentation and diagrams of the work they perform. The candidate must be able to lead the way to maintain and develop creative solutions to complex problems.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Provide Tier 1/2 operational support for network, server, and communications systems\n\n * Monitor system health, alarms, and network status dashboards\n\n * Perform initial troubleshooting and incident response using established procedures\n\n * Escalate complex issues to senior engineers and administrators\n\n * Generate and submit daily status and shift turnover reports\n\n * Support hardware installations, cable moves, and basic rack/stack activities\n\n * Follow approved standard operating procedures (SOPs) and security guidelines\n\n * Assist with system patching, reboots, and maintenance window activities\n\n * Support after-hours operations through pager/on-call rotation\n\n * Maintain accurate ticket notes, issue tracking, and operational logs\n\n * Support satellite communications and antenna monitoring activities as required\n\n\n\n\nCyber Operator Basic Qualifications:\n\n * Active TS/SCI clearance required to start; with willingness to receive a polygraph\n\n * 2 Years with Bachelor\u2019s Degree; OR 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.\n\n * Security+ certification required\n\n * Experience troubleshooting in Windows and/or Linux environments\n\n * General understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, switching, VPN concepts)\n\n * Ability to follow and execute documented procedures and SOPs\n\n * Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs\n\n * Willingness to travel up to 10%\n\n * Willingness to support after-hours pager/on-call duties \n(quarterly compensation plus hourly rate while actively engaged)\n\n\n\n\nPrincipal Cyber Operator Basic Qualifications:\n\n * Active TS/SCI clearance required to start; with willingness a polygraph\n\n * 5 Years with Bachelor\u2019s Degree; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Years with PhD; OR 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.\n\n * Security+ certification required\n\n * Experience troubleshooting in Windows and/or Linux environments\n\n * General understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, switching, VPN concepts)\n\n * Ability to follow and execute documented procedures and SOPs\n\n * Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs\n\n * Willingness to travel up to 10%\n\n * Willingness to support after-hours pager/on-call duties \n(quarterly compensation plus hourly rate while actively engaged)\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience with RHEL 8 / Linux administration\n\n * Experience with Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022\n\n * Familiarity with system patching and maintenance activities\n\n * Experience installing and racking server or networking equipment\n\n * Exposure to Juniper and Cisco networking equipment or similar enterprise network devices\n\n * Experience supporting satellite communications or antenna systems\n\n * Experience supporting Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) initiatives\n\n\n\n\nNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
