Job Description - Cyber Security Analyst

Role:

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will safeguard our organization's digital assets and infrastructure from cyber threats. Your responsibilities will include monitoring potential vulnerabilities or breaches, analyzing security incidents, and developing strategies to mitigate risks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that security best practices are integrated into all aspects of our systems and processes. To a lesser degree, the position may require assistance with company infrastructure.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. Apply skills to develop and implement controls to mitigate risks. Prepare status reports on security matters and respond to breaches. Assist in the maintenance and development of security policies and procedures (i.e., user log-on, authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, security auditing procedures, and use of firewall and encryption routines). Collaborate with IT teams to ensure systems follow best practices for security protection and prevention.

- Collaborate with internal and external parties to understand the industry, regulatory, and compliance landscape; align security posture accordingly. Follow best practices from the Zero Trust, NIST, and CIS Frameworks to prevent cybersecurity threats. Assist with vulnerability and patch management processes for all company hardware. Support the primary point of contact for cyber incidents. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Credit Union Cyber Incident Response Plan. Participate in developing and practicing playbook responses to cyber events. Assist in developing and administering security policy, procedures, and documentation. Contribute to internal and external audits when requested; use audit findings to improve security posture. Assist with the administration of MDM solutions to deploy policies, profiles, applications, security & configuration settings, and updates to endpoint devices.
- Provide expertise in the following systems and applications: Next-Gen Antivirus (NGAV), Endpoint Detection Response (EDR), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Secure Email Gateway, Identity and Access Management, Active Directory, Endpoint Configuration and Hardening, Vulnerability Management, Single Sign-On, and Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Perform security audits and assessments of both clients and vendors. Help enforce IT Security standards. Work with business units to ensure their systems comply with company cyber security policies.
Performance Measurements:
1. To anticipate system and network security/integrity risks and assure adequate safeguards.
2. To identify opportunities to improve services to the company and/or its customers through use of new products and technologies.
3. To assure prompt response to and recovery from systems and network related production interruptions, across multiple hardware platforms, networks and operating systems.
4. To provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:

Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education:

College degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or equivalent.
Interpersonal Skills:

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to:
- Position self to move about the work area.
- Reach, grab, sort.
- Communicate in person and via telephone with others.
- Identify and recognize small font communication.
- Ability to transport a minimum of 10 pounds.
