This role is located in San Diego, CA.\n\nIn this role as a software-focused Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (CSSE), you will assess software for vulnerabilities, develop automation for cybersecurity processes, and investigate complex technical issues. You will also guide and support the security layout / architecture and influence the security tools\u0027 selection and development. Additionally, you will evaluate and assess the proposed and realized implementation to identify security risks and verify the cybersecurity protections from the design are realized and integrated. Finally, you will guide and support the development of verification efforts to ensure the cybersecurity protections and capabilities are functional, effective, and complete.\n\nIn this role, you will have the following responsibilities:\n\n * Solve complex technical problems involving low level cybersecurity concepts.\n * Assess software static code analysis results.\n * Generating and maintaining appropriate artifacts for Navy authorization decisions.\n * Experience performing system vulnerability scans utilizing tools such ACAS and Evaluate STIG.\n * Experience performing manual STIG / SRG verifications on disparate types of equipment including collecting and evaluating findings.\n\n\n\nThis requisition may be filled as a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer or Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nAt a Engineer Level:\n\n * Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master\u0027s Degree in a STEM field and at least some of relevant military / professional / academic experience\n\n\n\nAt a Principal Engineer Level:\n\n * Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master\u0027s Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 1 year of relevant military / professional / academic experience\n\n\n\nAt Both Levels:\n\n * Must have previous experience in at least one of the following programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python\n * Must have previous experience creating automation scripts utilizing resources such as Ansible, Python and PowerShell\n * Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * CSSLP, CISSP, CEH\n * Foundational knowledge and experience with core systems engineering principles, including:\n * Requirements development, allocation, and traceability\n * Verification and validation planning and execution\n * Engineering Change Processes\n * Experience performing cybersecurity impact assessments during design changes, capability upgrades, and/or baseline reviews\n * Experience performing system vulnerability scans utilizing tools such ACAS, and automated STIG tools such as Evaluate STIG or Security Compliance Checker.\n * Experience with networking technologies, router and switch configurations, troubleshooting and security / vulnerability assessments\n * Active TS/SCI clearance\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $101,000.00 - $151,400.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $125,300.00 - $187,900.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
