Name of position: Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Summary:
A Cybersecurity Engineer develops and manages security solutions to safeguard an organization's digital assets. This role involves identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security controls, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and endpoint security.
- Monitor networks and systems for security threats and suspicious activities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Configure and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
- Perform security risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT teams to secure cloud, network, and application environments.
- Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, GDPR).
- Maintain security documentation, incident reports, and technical procedures.
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 2â5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or systems administration.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, networking protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud platforms.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
