HDG is currently on the lookout for Cybersecurity Engineers. The chosen candidates will undertake a range of responsibilities, including delivering top-notch engineering support services, software engineering, and cybersecurity engineering. This position entails being a key member of the team, aiding in the reinforcement of assured Command and Control capabilities for our DoD customer within the Navy Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) in San Diego, CA.

Duties:
· Develop, execute, and enforce cybersecurity policies, ensuring adherence to Assessment and Authorization requirements.
· Strategize, implement, enhance, and monitor cybersecurity measures to fortify defense mechanisms and sustain a resilient network against cyber threats.
· Evaluate cybersecurity vulnerabilities to identify risks and recommend and execute remedial actions or risk mitigation strategies.
· Implement and maintain necessary security controls to protect digital assets and electronic infrastructure effectively.
· Respond promptly to computer security breaches, restoring protections and generating essential reports as needed.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent.
· Three (3) years of professional experience with cybersecurity engineering.
· Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level I (position-based) per DoD 8570.1M

Desired Experience:
· Conducting comprehensive Cybersecurity risk assessments on deployed Navy systems, system functions, and interconnections to provide relevant input.
· Offering recommended modifications to DoD and DON cybersecurity initiatives following thorough evaluations of evolving changes. Providing insights on priorities, policy impacts, and requirements criteria to support Navy cybersecurity objectives. This aids in developing and defending budgets, program plans, and policies.
· Tracking operational adjustments within DoD and DON cybersecurity initiatives. Providing implementation guidance and identifying policy impacts on cost, schedule, and performance criteria. This supports Navy cybersecurity objectives and helps in shaping existing and future budgets, program plans, and policies.
· Strengthening Cybersecurity strategy and governance to align with DoD and DON policies, standards, and architectures.
· Providing recommendations and support to the Government during engineering events and certification-related functions mandated by NAVWAR’s Information Assurance Technical Authority (IATA) mission.
· Assessing cybersecurity requirements implementation throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Offering suggestions on cybersecurity risks and mitigations for Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), both internal and external to NAVWAR.
· Identifying risks related to enterprise architecture development for system-of-system cybersecurity designs. Maximizing the use of common and inheritable security controls to support a defense-in-depth strategy through digital engineering methods.

Salary at Highbury Defense is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements This is a contingent position expected to be in San Diego, CA. The pay range for the position will be provided at the time the position is no longer contingent.
