Job Summary: | This full-time University of Colorado Staff Cytology Laboratory Assistant position in a busy clinical laboratory setting providing testing of gynecologic samples, body fluids, Fine Needle Aspirates and biopsies. This position is responsible for accessioning patient samples, processing samples using various technical protocols, routine instrument maintenance, and some clerical duties. This position requires strong communication and teamwork skills as it interacts on daily basis with cytologist, pathologists, residents, fellows, clinicians, and various hospital personnel. This position requires following all federal, state, institutional and laboratory policies, and Standard Operation Procedures for methodologies used in processing specimens. Technician is expected to exercise sound independent judgment, while seeking appropriate guidance in solving non-routine problems.

Substitution\: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range for this position has been established as $51,228 - $60,816. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
