Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision exercises medical/psychiatric responsibility for SAMHC Deaf Services Program, interviews, evaluates, examines, diagnoses and provides treatment and treatment plans of clients. Supervises treatment provided by non- medical staff, performs professional duties requiring analysis of broad problems and planning of various interrelated activities with the Deaf Services Program.

* Provides outpatient and aftercare examinations and diagnostic and treatment services
* Provides medical leadership to Deaf Services staff in initial staffing of clients
* Admits, prescribes medications

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina. Completion of required residency in psychiatry and two years direct patient care experience. Broad certification in psychiatry strongly preferred, and is required for certified classes.
