Position Overview:

As Dairy Department Manager, you’ll lead a team responsible for keeping the dairy cases clean, well-stocked, and rotated. You’ll ensure that all dairy products—from milk to yogurt to specialty items—are fresh, labeled accurately, and attractively merchandised.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotation of all dairy products

• Maintain accurate inventory and reduce shrink through proper product rotation and tracking

• Ensure all cases are clean, well-organized, and compliant with food safety standards

• Monitor pricing, tags, and promotional signage for accuracy

• Collaborate with store leadership on merchandising strategies and sales goals

• Assist customers with product inquiries and special requests

• Support store-level operations and step into leadership roles as needed

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Previous experience in grocery or dairy department management preferred

• Knowledge of dairy product storage, rotation, and handling

• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for long periods (up to 8 hours)

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs

• Frequent bending, reaching, and working in cold/refrigerated environments

• Use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, and step stools
