Position Title: Dairy Manager

Position Summary:

The Dairy Clerk is responsible for managing the dairy section of the store, ensuring that products are properly stocked, organized, and displayed according to company standards. This role involves assisting customers, maintaining product freshness, and ensuring the dairy department is clean and well-maintained.

General Purpose:

To provide exceptional customer service while managing inventory, ensuring the dairy section is fully stocked and organized, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety in the department.

Position Responsibilities:

• Product Stocking & Organization:
• Stock dairy products, such as milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, and other refrigerated items, ensuring they are neatly arranged and well-organized.
• Rotate products according to the "first in, first out" (FIFO) method to ensure product freshness and minimize waste.
• Check expiration dates regularly and remove any expired or damaged items from the shelves.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the manager.
• Customer Service:
• Greet customers with a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Assist customers in locating products or providing recommendations when needed.
• Handle customer inquiries regarding dairy products, such as ingredients, dietary restrictions, or special requests.
• Maintain a clean and inviting dairy section to encourage customer satisfaction and sales.
• Department Maintenance:
• Ensure that the dairy case and refrigeration units are clean, organized, and functioning properly.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in the dairy area, including shelves, refrigerators, and floor spaces.
• Monitor and adjust product displays to ensure they are visually appealing and easy for customers to access.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Follow all food safety protocols to ensure products are stored, handled, and displayed according to health and safety regulations.
• Keep the dairy area well-stocked, organized, and free of debris or hazards to maintain a safe shopping environment.
• Assist in performing regular temperature checks to ensure that refrigeration units are operating within required guidelines.
• Additional Duties:
• Assist with markdowns, promotions, and organizing seasonal or special displays for dairy items.
• Support the team with general department tasks as needed, such as cleaning or assisting with inventory counts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a grocery or retail environment is a plus, but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, particularly with product organization and rotation.
• Basic knowledge of dairy products and food safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in a cold environment, as dairy products are stored in refrigerated sections.
