Job Description - Data Analyst 4 (eCommerce Business Insights Analyst)

Role: Data Analyst

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Job Type: W2 Only

Location: Ridgefield Park, NJ (Onsite)

Job Description:

Summary:
The main function of the Data Analyst is to provide business intelligence support and supporting areas by means of both repeatable and ad hoc reporting delivery reports (charts, graphs, tables, etc) that enable informed business decisions.
Job Responsibilities:
Analyzes performance of process activities, identifies problem areas, and presents findings in clear, concise charts, graphs, tables, or summaries.
Establishes standardized methods of recording, tracking and reporting on activity.
Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes.
Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
Conducts research on emerging products, services, approaches, and techniques in the area of data analysis.
Skills:

Strong interpersonal and consultative skills to translate and understand reporting requirements.
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of one or more key information service standards such as SDLC, ITIL, QA/testing, Project Management, Six Sigma, etc.
Strong PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint.
Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
8-10 years of experience required.
Process certification, such as, Six Sigma, CBPP, BPM, ISO 20000, ITIL, CMMI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES/REQUIREMENTS:
Key Responsibilities

Provide the Samsung.com leadership team and key stakeholders with data insights and reporting to drive improvement in the top-line revenue.
Manage and analyses and reports across large and varied data sets to track performance, identify improvement areas, and anticipate business outcomes across our sell-out platforms.
Manage multiple executive dashboards and periodic reporting to make data readily available to the leadership team.
Serve as a key member on multiple strategic initiatives providing data-driven insights to inform the strategy and performance improvement actions.
Assess and build benchmarking indicators to forecast business risks / opportunities and work with key stakeholders to define mitigation plans as warranted.
Convert business goals to data requirements for BI roadmap to Big Data team.
Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer key business questions for stakeholders.
Background/Experience:

Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of directly related experience is required.
Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or other related subject strongly preferred.
Proficient in SQL, Tableau, Adobe Analytics, and Vertica.
Previous experience in business planning, e-commerce analytics, or similar function, with heavy focus on data analysis, and supporting online business.
Demonstrated success in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment with ability to respond to changing priorities without loss in performance or productivity.
Ability to communicate the problem statement with required solution across different teams
Microsoft Standard Office Suite and advanced expertise in PowerPoint and Excel.
Demonstrated program management ability, proven experience planning and executing large scale projects and initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:

Had experience conducting ETL and data mapping as required and also co-ordinate the same with engineering teams
Experience with statistical tools such as R or SAS and a working knowledge of programming languages like Python
Ability to curate focused insights for driving go-to-market strategies on constricted timelines.
Demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills with senior level leaders and teams.
Excellent analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills.
Ability to work across organizational boundaries to build alignment and drive closure on issues.
Fluent in Korean and English.
