- Proficient to expert level in SQL and handling big data
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker (preferably), Qlikview, etc.).
Job Duties: • Performing exploratory data analysis for the Insurance vertical in order to uncover data-driven insights using structured query language (SQL), advanced algorithms, scripting languages such as Python or Java and other big data tools;
• Driving highly visible analytic projects for ***’s Product team. For example, the candidate will create data tools that improve user navigation and run experiments and tests to improve early user retention using our data visualization, Looker.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with our Business, Marketing and Content teams on product development and computing issues, such as how user experience translates to financial partner specific performance and to understand data requirements for content creation teams that are utilized by our users;
• Ensuring proper tracking of data and instrumentation of new products or features by working closely with our Insurance Product and Engineering teams;
• Serving as a subject-matter expert and leader in defining metric calculations and development of self-serve dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics;
• Leveraging technology systems and shared data platforms, best practices for data handling and cleansing, as well as methodologies for drawing insights and innovations with other Analytics teams; and
• Presenting results and findings to ***’s senior leadership and making recommendations on data practices and computing technologies.
Qualifications: • Proficient to expert level in SQL and handling big data (experience with Python or other scripting languages is a plus).
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a quantitative role, preferably at a consumer technology company.
• Strategic and analytical understanding of the dynamics of a marketplace.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker (preferably), Qlikview, etc.).
