Avaap is seeking an experienced Account Director to join our growing Data, Analytics & AI practice. This role is ideal for a consultative leader with a strong background serving State, Local Government, and Higher Education (SLED) clients who can successfully lead complex engagements while helping grow strategic client relationships.
This is a hybrid leadership role that combines:
Client relationship management
Consulting delivery leadership
Business development/account growth
Billable consulting responsibilities
The ideal candidate brings experience leading large-scale data modernization initiatives, managing consulting teams, and advising executive stakeholders on modern data, analytics, and AI strategies.
Responsibilities Include
Manages Data, Analytics and AI client relationships and engagements that are significant in size, scope, complexity, revenue, and/or strategic value
Directs account operations, including sales, profitability, budgeting, forecasting revenue, and staffing levels
Maintains accountability for quality of delivery meeting or exceeding customer requirements
Ensures that work produced is consistent with contract requirements, that project margins are managed and projects are staffed properly
Serves as a primary point of escalation for client delivery assurance
Drives sales including but not limited to proposals, presentations, work estimates, and Statement of Work (SOW) writing
Identifies and drives extensions or expansion of existing client projects
Accurately tracks opportunities and sales stage progress in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
Manages a team of managers and/or direct reports, including interviewing, onboarding, goal setting, feedback, coaching, development, and recognition
Oversees performance management, employee satisfaction/engagement, and employee retention initiatives across the team
Drives adoption of and adherence to Avaap practices, policies, and procedures across the team
Serves as liaison between Avaap leadership, client, company, vendor, and other 3rd party organizations
Completes other related responsibilities as assigned based on client or business needs
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated year-over-year experience leading large/complex data-driven projects and project teams in a client-facing capacity from inception through completion while ensuring customer satisfaction and all scope/requirements are met
Knowledge of modern data, analytics, and AI technologies, solutions, methodologies and best practices
Experience managing project budgets, timelines to align with contractual obligations
Experience and comfortability overseeing multiple client engagement at a time
Consulting delivery experience with demonstrated ability to set strategy, success criteria and scope for clients and then ensure project teams deliver client solutions to meet those needs
Prior experience driving/growing accounts, including managing account/work plans, client expectations, and internal staffing
Demonstrated thought leadership and influence both inside and outside of the organization (including C-Suite, clients, and third-party business partners)
Prior experience managing individuals and teams, including interviewing, onboarding, goal-setting, feedback, coaching, development, and recognition
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences, both internal and external
Advanced Microsoft Office skills consistent with consulting uses
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading data modernization and cloud transformation initiatives
Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar technologies
Data, analytics, AI, or cloud-related certifications
Prior consulting experience within a professional services or technology consulting organization
Pay Transparency
Compensation for roles at Avaap varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific business unit, team, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Avaap provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.
Base Salary Range is $140,000 to $185,000 plus 50% variable compensation is available for this specific role. At Avaap it is not typical to be hired at the top of the base salary range.
During the interview process, alignment to level will be determined and should level differ from position applied for, a new compensation range will be provided for the appropriate role.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively
Must be able to perform work indoors and remain stationary at a computer
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Passion for exceptional customer service and collaboration
Ability to work remotely or out of one of Avaap’s physical office locations
Current permanent U.S. work authorization required
