Data Architect (AI Transformation)

Focus Capital Markets' hedge fund is on the precipice of a full-scale AI transformation. We are looking for someone who can take this initiative from 0->1 by developing data solutions that are 'AI friendly.'

The fund was initially built with on-premise infrastructure, so foundationally we need someone who can ensure the data is usable, can be cloud-deployed, and can put data structures in place for AI initiatives.

This includes taking disparate, non-relational data and building processes that connect them via LLMs. This will eventually lead to building AI-powered risk engines, PnL platforms and other analytics data infrastructure where models and applications are exposed to emerging LLMs.

This is a long-term opportunity to build a multi-year AI roadmap, starting with the foundational architecture and moving into large-scale AI integrations.

Although the organization is outside of the NYC area, it is just as lucrative and would afford someone with career stability, longevity and growth opportunity within the organization. The parent company is best of breed in the hedge fund industry and there are opportunities to grow from within.

Onsite Monday-Thursday

Minimum Requirements:

1. 7+ years of experience working in data architecture and/or data science
2. Experience with Python and SQL
3. NoSQL / graph database experience required.
4. Experience with REST APIs
5. Strong understanding of cloud deployments
6. Experience with Snowflake and Databricks
7. Hands-on experience working with modern LLMs
8. Prior experience working in financial services or with a hedge fund.
9. Bachelors degree or higher in computer science, mathematics or related field.
10. Must have excellent communication skills.
