Data Business Analyst (Banking)

ITTConnect is seeking a Senior Data Business Analyst with experience in Capital Markets / Banking to join our team. Our client is a major IT Consulting firm with HQ in Europe, offices in 15 countries and over 15k employees, they are experts in tailored Applications Services to Banks, Insurance and Industry clients.

Job Location: Tampa, FL.

We are seeking an experienced Reference Data Business Analyst to support enterprise data initiatives across trading, risk, operations, and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of financial instruments, market data, and security master data, with the ability to bridge business stakeholders and technology teams.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to security master, pricing, corporate actions, counterparty, and instrument reference data
  


• Partner with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to define data standards and governance controls
  


• Map data lineage and perform gap analysis across upstream and downstream systems
  


• Support implementation of data platforms (e.g., golden source, MDM, data lakes)
  


• Define data quality rules, controls, and KPIs
  


• Work on regulatory initiatives (e.g., CAT, TRACE, EMIR, SFTR, SEC reporting)
  


• Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows
  


• Assist with UAT coordination and defect resolution
  


• Support data reconciliation and remediation efforts
  

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  


• 5+ years as a Business Analyst within capital markets or banking
  


• Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
  


• Stakeholder management across multiple functions
  


• Experience with data governance frameworks and data quality controls
  


• Familiarity with SQL and ability to query large datasets
  


• Experience with vendor data feeds (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, Markit)
  


• Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements
  
  Strong understanding of:
  

• Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Structured Products
  


• Security identifiers (CUSIP, ISIN, SEDOL, Bloomberg, Reuters)
  


• Pricing & valuation data
  


• Corporate actions processing
  
  Preferred Qualifications:
  

• Experience with MDM platforms (e.g., GoldenSource, Informatica MDM, Markit EDM)
  


• Knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
  


• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
  


• Understanding of data lineage and metadata tools (Collibra, Alation)
