Role Summary

As a Data Center Facility Engineer at our Secaucus, New Jersey facility, you will play a critical role in sustaining the uptime, safety, and performance of our mission-critical infrastructure. This is a hands-on position that demands strong technical expertise, a sharp eye for detail, and the flexibility to thrive in a dynamic 24/7 operating environment.

You will own the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems that are foundational to the data center's reliability and functionality. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Secaucus, New Jersey, with shift availability required across days, evenings, nights, and weekends to support continuous operations.

Responsibilities

· Conduct routine site inspections and supervise building and data center alarms

· Perform preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure or coordinate vendor-led work

· Undertake repairs and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems

· Operate and maintain systems including UPS, generators, chillers, BMS, and fire/life safety equipment

· Work with power distribution systems, including PDUs, RPPs, ATS, and switchgear

· Maintain site logs, gather operational data, and assist with MOPs and basic permitting processes

· Monitor key environmental and performance metrics (e.g., temperature, humidity, airflow) to ensure optimal       cooling and system efficiency

· Respond to on-site incidents and support critical maintenance activities as needed

· Complete routine work orders and assist with circuit installations

· Support basic infrastructure projects as assigned

· Collaborate with team members and provide input on maintenance best practices

· Support a 24/7 operation, including rotating shifts, emergency response, and coverage needs

· Manage power load transfers during maintenance and outages.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in a data center, critical infrastructure, or similar technical environment

· Strong mechanical or electrical systems proficiency, including UPS, HVAC, BMS, and generators

· Experience working with BMS and/or DCIM systems for monitoring and incident response

· Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance procedures, tools, and documentation

· Understanding of redundancy concepts (e.g., N+1) in data center power and cooling design

· Skilled in the use of tools, meters, and monitoring systems

· Proven troubleshooting skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

· Effective communicator and team collaborator

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks, including walking, climbing, kneeling, and crouching

· Ability to work in and around energized electrical equipment, mechanical systems, and environments with  elevated noise levels and varying temperatures

· Ability to respond to emergencies quickly and work in varying indoor environments

· This is a full-time, on-site role based in Secaucus, New Jersey, with shift availability required across days,  evenings, nights, and weekends to support continuous 24/7 operations

· Participation in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends as needed.
