📋 What does a Data Compliance Specialist do at The WOW Center?


The WOW Center is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional to lead the management, optimization, and reporting of data within Therap, our primary client record management system. This role serves as the organization’s internal expert on Therap data governance, reporting, analytics, and cross-department system improvement.



This position blends data management, business intelligence, and project management to ensure accurate reporting, operational insight, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, dashboards, and data cleaning), comfortable leading projects, and able to collaborate effectively across departments.






📝 Desired Qualifications


 



  • Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our office.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning, dashboarding). 



  • Experience in project management (formal or informal). 



  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. 



  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments. 



  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. 


 


Preferred 



  • Experience with Therap or another client record management system. 



  • Background in disability services, nonprofits, healthcare, or human services. 



  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar—optional). 


 


📝 Professional Responsibilities and Duties 


Therap Data Management & System Optimization 



  • Manage Therap data on an ongoing basis to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. 



  • Build and maintain data governance standards to strengthen long-term data integrity. 



  • Work with departments to ensure proper data entry practices and compliance with established workflows.  


 


Business Intelligence & Reporting 



  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics in Therap and Excel. 



  • Develop insights and visualizations related to key operational areas, including:  



  • Individual goals & progress 



  • Attendance and service delivery 



  • Billing data 



  • Assessments and questionnaires 



  • Demographics 



  • Other program and operational indicators 



  • Provide timelyaccurate reports for leadership, the board, state and local agencies, grantors, donors, and other stakeholders. 


 


Cross-Department Collaboration 



  • Partner with EducationOperations, Social Services, HR, and other teams to identify reporting needs and build efficient data solutions. 



  • Assist departments in developing and streamlining processes that support the accuracy and reliability of Therap data. 



  • Support staff training on data entry, documentation standards, and reporting workflows. 


 


Project Management 



  • Lead data-related projects from planning to execution. 



  • Assist in implementing new Therap modules, features, and process improvements. 



  • Track progress, solve system issues, and communicate project updates to leadership.
