Title: Data Discovery Analyst

Compensation: $50-55/hour

Description
Join our Data Protection team as a Data Discovery Analyst. In this role, you will scrutinize scan results from both structured and unstructured enterprise data, facilitating the implementation of effective controls to protect sensitive information.

Required experience/knowledge
-Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
-Professional Experience: At least 3 years of comprehensive experience in information systems and business operations.
-Technical Proficiency: Experience with automated data discovery and protection tools such as Microsoft Purview and BigID. Candidates with direct experience in Microsoft Purview will be preferred.
-Data Management Knowledge: Familiarity with data discovery, governance, classification, and privacy principles.
-Analytical Skills: Proven ability to assess data classifications and conduct searches using Boolean logic and RegEx.
-Data Handling Expertise: Competence in managing large data sets with Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence tools like PowerBI.

-Collaborative Interaction: Engage with enterprise product teams, data analysts, and data governance teams in cross-functional projects.
-Effective Communication: Convey progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders with clarity.
-Independent Management: Work autonomously to manage time effectively and fulfill commitments.
