Job Description - Data Integration Developer - Radiation Physics Outreach

The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

Supports data integration needs for the Radiation Dosimetry Services (RDS), including maintenance, development, and enhancement of RDS databases and website. The RDS provides quality assurance checks for output of radiotherapy machines and blood irradiators at more than 1200 radiation oncology centers and blood banks worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Provides support for existing MS Access databases and public facing website with backend structured query language (SQL) database.

(2) Complete final coding to move the RDS-modal view controller (MVC), a recently developed web-based MS SQL database, from the testing to the final production phase. Lead the implementation of the production version of RDS-MVC and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancement.

(3) Assist staff with information technology needs.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Support existing databases and website

• Provides support for an existing MS Access databases and public facing website

Support web-based MS SQL database

• Complete final coding to move the web-based RDS-MVC MS SQL database from the testing to the final production phase.

• Lead the release/implementation of production version of RDS-MVC.

• Provide ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the RDS-MVC

Support staff with information technology needs

***** Assist staff with troubleshooting on IT issues, including software and hardware.

Renew licenses for programs and databases for continuity.

• Assist with special projects as needed.

Education

Required:

Bachelor's degree.

Preferred

: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline.

Experience

Required:

Four years of integration programming and/or systems level experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
