Overview


The University seeks an individual for the role of Data Operations Manager. The Data Operations Manager will work closely with Investment Accounting and Investments Office staff to assist with the data and performance tracking needs of managing Yale's complex private equity portfolio. Timely and accurate assessments of private investment portfolio characteristics and performance are essential to numerous decision-making processes, including those of asset allocation and manager evaluation.


Required Skills and Abilities


1. Ability to accurately record and manage large quantities of private equity-related data.

2. Ability to improve efficiency of data-related processes.

3. Ability to interact confidently with senior management internally and externally.


Preferred Skills and Abilities

Experience with C++, Java, and/or SQL. CFA, CPA or MBA. Knowledge of Eagle Systems.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Input and manage all data and other information related to investments in private assets including: daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end company and fund values, cash flows, and benchmark values.
2. Track and assist in the analysis of current and historical private equity performance.
3. Work alongside investment analysts to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on private equity portfolio characteristics and performance.
4. Gather and analyze global private equity market data.
5. Interface with the back-offices of Yale’s external investment managers.
