Entering occupational health and exposure study data according to a project specific coding guide provided for the activity.
Data sources vary by project but typically include electronic files, pdf documents or microform copies of hardcopy records (i.e., employment records, death records, surveys).
Enter data verbatim as well as minor coding using tools such as Microsoft Access, Industrywide Data Management Systems (IDMS) or NIOSH Industry and Occupation Computerized Coding System (NIOCCS).
Validating or correcting study and surveillance data from edited reports.
Coding data according to national classification standards.
Providing clerical support for study data collection.
Tracking the status of survey responses and preparing material for mass mailing.
Ability to Perform FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) searches.
Provide record management support by entering information in systems such as Industrywide Studies Information Systems (ISIS), preparing records for storage, and ensuring all records are accurate.
Qualification
Must have High School diploma or GED.
2 + years' experience as Data Processing Clerk
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
