Your Specific Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing technical phone support to staff on hardware and software utilized throughout the county. Strong communication and technical skills are a must, as this position handles most of the calls to the Division, immediately resolving password resets/logon issues, troubleshooting issues and escalating as necessary. This position also provides clerical support to the Division, including all purchasing, processing travel, and serves as receptionist. The position provides direct administrative support for the IT Division Director.
Responsibilities include:
Providing Help Desk telephone support for IT Division
Providing technical assistance utilizing Microsoft Office applications and agency databases
Tracking of Help Desk requests and escalation of issues within IT
Processes all IT Division purchases in state purchasing system (Ariba On Demand) or via purchasing card, submitting requests, tracking/reordering supplies, tracking purchases and invoices.
Processes some technical purchases for other divisions.
Processes travel for IT staff
Coordinates IT Division staff meetings
Providing administrative assistance for the IT director
Maintains agency on-line phone directory
Monitors supervisor notifications of staff hires, position updates and terminations in local database
Serves as backup to the IT Trainer, creating user accounts in TRAIN and preparing paperwork for On Boarding
Serves as backup to position responsible for position number assignments and staff setup for EARS in HMS.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skill in providing patient and calm demeanor to customers
Skill in communicating technical information effectively.
Ability to think logically and to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
Knowledge of desktop computer operations and peripheral equipment.
Ability to interpret, detect, and respond to computer error messages and equipment malfunctions.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
1 or more years of entering data into a database
1 or more years of experience providing technical user support
1 or more years of experience purchasing utilizing Ariba On Demand
1 or more years of experience with the Health Management System (HMS)
