JOB TITLE: Data Science Specialist
LOCATION: Port Hueneme, CA | Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering (CSFE)
STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt, Salary
CLEARANCE: Active Secret Clearance Required
Carley is seeking a Data Science Specialist to support CSFE in Port Hueneme, CA. This contract-contingent role requires daily onsite support, the ability to obtain and maintain required security credentials, including a CAC, up to 10% travel, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions.
What You’ll Do at Carley
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to support Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) operational, training, and business requirements
- Develop data models, dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support data-driven decision-making
- Perform statistical analysis, trend analysis, and predictive modeling using large datasets
- Support data collection, cleansing, transformation, validation, and management activities
- Develop and maintain automated reporting solutions and data visualization products using business intelligence tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, developers, and government personnel to identify data requirements and reporting objectives
- Support the development and implementation of analytics strategies, methodologies, and best practices
- Interpret and communicate analytical findings and technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Support integration and analysis of data from multiple systems and databases
- Assist with identifying operational trends, risks, gaps, and performance improvement opportunities
- Support continuous process improvement and data modernization initiatives
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with customer and organizational requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting data analytics, business intelligence, data science, or statistical analysis activities
- Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, Python, R, or related technologies
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and analytical products
- Experience performing data cleansing, transformation, validation, and analysis activities
- Ability to analyze large datasets and communicate findings clearly and effectively
- Experience supporting data-driven decision-making and operational analysis initiatives
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
- Must have an active Secret clearance, or have held an active Secret clearance within the last 24 months, with the ability to maintain the applicable security clearance and additional credentials, including a CAC, required to access a military installation and perform assigned duties
- Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions
- Due to the nature of the work at Carley, this position requires U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Navy programs
- Experience supporting training, readiness, manpower, personnel, or operational analytics initiatives
- Experience working with enterprise data systems, relational databases, or cloud-based analytics environments
- Experience supporting predictive analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence initiatives
- Experience developing executive-level dashboards and performance metrics
- Familiarity with Navy training systems, CETARS, FLTMPS, or related Navy data environments
- Experience supporting process improvement or data modernization initiatives
What It’s Like to Work at Carley
This onsite position is located at a military training school/base in Port Hueneme, CA and is contingent upon contract award. Qualified candidates may be asked to sign a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI). If Carley is awarded the contract, selected candidates may receive a formal offer, contingent upon customer approval and completion of all required onboarding requirements.
