Job Description - Day Program Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE


 


The Day Program Area Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of assigned program areas within the day program. This role ensures that direct support staff provide high-quality, person-centered services while maintaining compliance with agency policies and state regulations. The Supervisor plays a key role in guiding, coaching, and supporting staff to foster a safe and engaging environment for individuals served.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Supervise and oversee daily operations of assigned program areas.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to direct support staff to ensure quality services.

  • Assign and delegate tasks to staff, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion.

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and individual support plans.

  • Serve as a liaison between staff, individuals served, families, and management to ensure effective communication.

  • Conduct staff evaluations and provide feedback for professional growth and development.

  • Implement and oversee structured activities that promote engagement, independence, and skill development.

  • Respond promptly to concerns, emergencies, and behavioral incidents, ensuring the highest standards of care.

  • Assist in conflict resolution within the team and provide guidance for best practices.

  • Ensure proper documentation of services, incidents, and staff performance.

  • Coordinate schedules and maintain adequate staffing levels for program needs.

  • Support training initiatives and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities.


All other duties assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS



  • At least 2-3 years of experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field.

  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and any subsequent background check after employment.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.

  • Successfully complete employment-related training as directed.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to move freely between program areas and community settings.

  • Capacity to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

  • Capability to lift, carry, push or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasional assistance with transferring individuals or supporting mobility if required.

  • Ability to work long or irregular hours when necessary, including evenings or weekends.

  • Capacity to respond to emergencies promptly, which may require physical effort or quick movement.

  • Willingness to work in various environments, including community outings and non-traditional settings.
