We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Program Manager to lead our dynamic College Plus program—supporting adults in achieving their educational, vocational, and independent living goals.
In this rewarding role, you’ll mentor students, foster essential life skills, and inspire a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, person-centered support. You’ll be a key leader in driving success, inclusion, and empowerment through higher education and community engagement.
As Program Manager, you’ll also be responsible for coaching, training, caseload management, and mentoring Program Specialists, ensuring alignment with Mains’l’s mission, vision, and values. By partnering with individuals, teams, and stakeholders, you’ll make a lasting impact—helping people live with meaning and purpose.
This position is full-time/ 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday.
Pay: $21.00, $22.00 after 6 months and completion of training
Located: Chico, CA
Position requirements:
Directly manage a caseload of approximately 30 supported individuals and Program Specialists.
Ability to guide/develop individuals to their fullest potential to offer the best possible service to those supported.
Complete assessments and evaluations to support individuals in their personal goals
Engage in community outreach to develop professional relationships for collaborative work in the community, creating inclusive opportunities
Invest in the ongoing growth and development of staff
Engages regularly in leadership development trainings
Train, coach, and mentor employees using Mains’l mission, vision, tools, and other resources.
Collaborate with delegates from underserved communities to work past barriers to access and participate in employment opportunities.
Support for helping students navigate Chico State and Butte College campuses and become familiar with different departments and services.
Support for breaking down homework assignments into clear steps and helping students stay organized.
Assist students in finding appropriate tutors.
Help students learn how to live independently.
Support the students by utilizing community resources.
Must have own vehicle with valid driver's license and current auto insurance.

Ability to supervise and lead others
Ability to utilize person-centered thinking skills and tools to identify strengths and areas that need attention and/or development
Ability to collaborate professionally and perform community outreach
Exceptional oral and written communication
Critical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to prioritize tasks
Basic technology skills: Zoom, Microsoft Office

Pay Scale:
Starting Rate: $21.00 ($22.00 after completion of training)
