Role Description:
We are looking for a Daycare Assistant to help maintain a safe and clean environment while actively supporting children's daily activities. If you enjoy working behind the scenes to keep a space organized, while also engaging with children in a nurturing setting, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in childcare, cleaning, or a related field is a plus.
Certifications:
CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain).
TB test and physical required (preferably completed before starting).
- Background check mandatory.
Skills & Traits:
- Attention to detail and understanding of sanitation standards.
- Team-oriented with a positive, reliable, and flexible attitude.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and stay active during shifts.
Responsibilities as a Daycare Assistant:
Maintain a Clean & Hygienic Environment:
- Follow the daycare’s cleaning schedule to sanitize rooms, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and high-touch surfaces.
- Keep play areas, nap rooms, and activity spaces neat and organized, and manage trash disposal.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and notify management of maintenance needs.
Support & Supervise Children:
- Monitor children during play, meals, and activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist with engaging, age-appropriate activities such as crafts and games.
- Help with daily routines like meals, naps, and toileting, ensuring children’s comfort.
- Encourage positive behavior and teach social skills through patience and positive reinforcement.
- Provide updates to parents on their child’s day, addressing any concerns or questions.
Professional Growth & Safety Compliance:
- Complete required training modules (two per week) in MIRegistry to stay updated on best practices.
- Follow all health, safety, and daycare policies to maintain a secure environment for the children.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies and administer basic first aid when necessary.
- Collaborate with daycare staff to create a positive, supportive space for children.
