Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a RN Fellow to join the PCICU team within Inova's L.J. Murphy Children’s Hospital. This position is Day/Night Shift rotation. Sign-on bonus and relocation bonus.
At Inova, the Pediatric Cardiac ICU serves the needs of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents who require specialized heart care. This specialized unit is staffed by highly skilled nurses and a team of intensivists from multiple subspecialties, including anesthesiology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric heart surgery, neonatology (newborn care), cardiac critical care, and pulmonology (lung care). The unit is expanding to include transplant and device management.

The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.
Job Responsibilities
Requirements
Certification - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association). Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
Licensure - Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
Experience - 1 year of nursing experience
Education - Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associate's Degree, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
Preferred Qualifications: 1-2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU
