         The Wasserstrom Company is the leading Food Service Distributor in the nation. Established in 1902, we are a family owned company with our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. We currently have a Distribution Center Application Specialist. The Distribution Center Application Support Specialist serves as a key contributor within the organization’s supply chain and warehouse management operations. This role functions as a business analyst, technical troubleshooter, and subject‑matter expert, providing analytical and technical support to ensure the stability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of warehouse systems.


Distribution Center Application Support Specialists work within a collaborative team environment that emphasizes clear communication, structured problem‑solving, and operational excellence. The position is responsible for researching and diagnosing system issues, analyzing data, supporting system enhancements, troubleshooting and configuring hardware, and contributing to the development of solutions that address complex challenges across warehouse and supply‑chain processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: 



  • Manage the technical aspects of the Infios/Körber/High Jump WMS or similar systems to optimize workflows

  • Uses full-stack SQL query language to manage projects

  • Troubleshoots, performance tuning, writes technical specifications from functional design specifications

  • Delivers timely, well-structured updates to management regarding system or hardware issues, resolutions, and ongoing support activities

  • Is proactive in exploring solutions to unfamiliar issues for the customer by expanding technical knowledge and exploring unique solutions

  • Uses experience to configure, troubleshooting or maintain Zebra RF Scanners, Window Servers or Print Servers

  • Creates and interprets technical design documents using the Microsoft Office Suite of products and other software

  • Understands and uses distribution business processes and change management processes

  • Uses networking tools, Windows operating systems, and database management systems to perform work

  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or CIS


  • 1 – 2 Years Related Experience



  • Previous Experience with Korber or similar WMS. 


Other Skills and Abilities:



  • Strong proficiency in SQL/T-SQL, JavaScript, and Microsoft technologies (Power BI, SSRS, Visual Studio, GitHub). 

  • Technical ability to learn and use a variety of software programs, such as .NET, RPGIII, RPGIV, RPG/ILE, and RPG Free. 

  • Communicates well with others; speaks and writes clearly; asks for and offers help when needed

  • Interpersonal; resolves questions and concerns in a professional manner; maintains confidentiality

  • Detail oriented; meets quality standards and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

  • Organized; completes work in a timely manner; able to prioritize and meet deadlines

  • Problem-solver; gathers and analyzes information skillfully and generates suggestions for improving work
