DCF Quality Control Specialist

Overview

The Economic Services Division (ESD) administers programs that help Vermonters meet their basic needs by providing access to essential benefits and services. The Quality Control Unit is seeking a talented, self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of the 3SquaresVT/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the ability to conduct thorough, objective, and detailed case analyses while applying federal and state regulations consistently.

Successful candidates will be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively as a valued member of a team. This position requires conducting in-person Quality Control interviews with customers and may require travel within the assigned service area in central Vermont. Applicants will be asked to indicate their preferred work location from an ESD district office, which will be considered based on coverage needs and available office space.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS:  Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.  In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed in a variety of settings including district offices and clients` homes. Considerable travel may be required and incumbents may be required to use either a state-provided vehicle or a private means of transportation. Incumbents may encounter reluctance or resistance from clients or other individuals in providing necessary information. Incumbents must be able to work within tight time limits and under considerable stress while dealing with hostile/angry clients.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years or more of experience with enrollment or eligibility determination, case management, program compliance, or administration.   

OR

Bachelor’s degree in a human services field AND one (1) year or more of experience with enrollment or eligibility determination, case management, program compliance, or administration.
