Meet the Team Core to the health and growth of our business, Millennium’s Information Technology organization supports a flexible, scalable technology environment powered by advanced proprietary systems and the continued development of next-generation analytical and trading capabilities. The global Network & Data Center team supports the firm’s physical infrastructure across data centers and office technology rooms, with a focus on operational reliability, connectivity, capacity management, and disciplined infrastructure operations.
What You'll Do
Own the data center ticket queue end to end, ensuring the timely triage, prioritization, assignment, and resolution of incidents, service requests, and change tasks across the New Jersey data center estate and New York office technology rooms
Serve as the accountable lead for day-to-day operational health across power, cooling, space, cabling, security, and environmental monitoring, escalating to engineering teams as appropriate
Lead, coach, and coordinate a team of Data Center Specialists, establishing daily priorities, managing shift coverage, and maintaining operational discipline in a 24x7 environment
Drive ITIL-aligned incident and change-management practices, acting as the operational bridge between the field team and Network Engineering to ensure changes are planned, reviewed, and executed safely
Maintain and improve operational runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge-base articles, ensuring procedures remain current, accessible, and consistently adopted
Own the accuracy and completeness of asset, rack, patching, and inventory records in ServiceNow and Nlyte, identifying and remediating data-quality gaps across CMDB and DCIM platforms
Oversee server provisioning and inventory lifecycle activities, including hardware intake, rack assignment, imaging, operating system deployment, Engineering handoff, and asset tracking through decommissioning
Manage vendor engagements, maintenance windows, data center facility work, and third-party smart-hands activity; monitor infrastructure capacity and health, report operational metrics to leadership, and lead process, tooling, automation, and integration improvements
What You Bring
8+ years of experience in data center or large-scale infrastructure operations, including at least 3 years as a team lead, operations manager, or senior individual contributor; financial services or other mission-critical environment experience is strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize high-volume operational ticket queues through ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira, with a record of driving SLA adherence and continuous improvement
Strong hands-on experience in data center physical operations, including racking and stacking, structured cabling, patch management, hardware lifecycle management, and installation, move, add, and change coordination
Solid understanding of data center power and cooling, including PDUs, UPS systems, dual feeds, N+1 and 2N redundancy concepts, capacity management, and remote-management technologies such as iDRAC, iLO, console servers, and out-of-band management
Experience with server provisioning workflows, including bare-metal imaging, PXE boot environments, BMC configuration, and CMDB-driven intake processes; familiarity with Ansible, Foreman, or comparable automation and provisioning platforms is a plus
CCNA-level networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, VLANs, trunking, subnetting, and basic routing, with the ability to coordinate and validate network cabling and connectivity activities with Engineering teams
Experience with DCIM, CMDB, and monitoring platforms such as Nlyte, ServiceNow, Prometheus, or comparable tools, including inventory-accuracy and data-quality practices
Strong leadership, documentation, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate global teams, manage competing priorities, produce operational and capacity reporting, and contribute to automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash
The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
