Deck & Remodeling Laborer (Entry-Level)

Overview:

A-1 Staffing is a trusted employment agency based in South Omaha, dedicated to connecting skilled professionals with leading employers across a wide range of industries. We are currently partnering with a reputable contractor known for delivering high-quality residential deck building and remodeling services throughout the Omaha region. Our client is seeking a dependable and fast learning Deck & Remodeling Laborer to join their team. This is a temp-to-hire position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and construct from framing plans (deck frames, roof trusses, etc.)


• Build all types of decks (wood, composite, multi-level)


• Experience with gable, shed, hip, or custom roof styles


• Use saws, routers, levels, and tape measure for accurate cuts


• Properly support load-bearing elements (posts, beams, joists)


• Clean finishes, create accurate cuts and proper spacing


• Adjust builds on the fly if plans or terrain require changes


• Assist in commercial/residential remodeling

Qualifications:

• Basic carpentry skills - Confidently use a tape measure, drill, hammer, circular saw, and other common tools


• Strong work ethic - Dependable, punctual, and consistently puts in a full day's work


• Faced-paced worker - Able to stay productive and efficient throughout the day


• Willingness to learn - Takes direction well and wants to grow in the trade


• Basic math skills - Accurate measuring, cutting, and simple layout calculations
  


• Physical stamina to stand, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods and ability to lift 50+ lbs


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites


• Willing to drive a 30 mile radius of omaha


• Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English

Preferred (but not required):

• Experience with framing, deck building, or remodeling
  


• Familiarity with treated lumber, composite decking, and fastening systems


• Comfortable using nail guns, miter saws, and other power tools

Hours:

• Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with overtime as needed
