Deck Specialist

From All things redwood to composite decking and railing systems to framing and hardware, we’re the go-to source for backyard transformations. We’re currently looking for a knowledgeable and personable Deck Specialist to support our customers and drive sales in the decking category. 

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the go-to expert for decking materials, systems, and installation best practices
   
• Assist contractors and homeowners with product selection, design support, and estimating
   
• Generate sales leads and follow up with prospects in-store, online, and in the field
   
• Stay up-to-date on decking trends, code requirements, and product innovations
   
• Work closely with inside sales, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
   
• Conduct training sessions and product demos for customers and internal staff
   
• Visit job sites or meet with clients to offer on-site guidance when needed
   

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in decking sales, carpentry, or related construction supply roles
   
• Deep knowledge of decking materials (composite, PVC, wood, railing systems, fasteners, etc.)
   
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
   
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or deck plans
   
• Comfortable using estimating tools and CRM systems
   
• Willingness to work some Saturdays (if applicable)
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a building supply or lumberyard environment
   
• Familiarity with top brands like Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon, RDI, or AZEK
   
• CAD or design software experience (helpful but not required)
