Position Overview

Claro's Italian Markets is seeking a dedicated Deli Clerk to support operations at our Arcadia location. This position plays an essential role in maintaining product quality, ensuring food safety standards, and providing knowledgeable, attentive service to our customers.

Work Schedule

• Full-time role, approximately 40 hours per week
• Availability required for weekends and holidays
• Schedule may vary based on operational needs

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $18.00 to $22.00, commensurate with experience

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and present deli products, including slicing meats and cheeses to order
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment in accordance with health regulations
• Assist customers with product selection and provide accurate information when needed
• Monitor product quality and ensure proper rotation and storage
• Support inventory restocking and display maintenance within the department
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a deli, grocery, or food service setting is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage responsibilities in a steady, fast-paced environment
• Dependable attendance and professional work ethic
• Familiarity with Italian deli products is advantageous but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain on feet for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Comfortable operating standard deli equipment
