Bakery/Deli Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bakery/Deli Manager to lead our combined bakery and deli department. In this key role, you will oversee daily operations, drive sales, ensure exceptional product quality and food safety, and lead a team to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced grocery store environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of the bakery and deli departments, including production, merchandising, inventory control, and product presentation
• Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and develop department associates to maintain high performance and excellent customer service
• Achieve sales and profit goals while controlling costs, labor, waste, and shrinkage
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, proper temperature controls, and health department requirements
• Oversee preparation of fresh baked goods, deli meats, cheeses, salads, hot foods, and made-to-order items
• Monitor product quality, freshness dates, and rotation to minimize waste and maximize freshness
• Create appealing displays and implement effective merchandising and promotional strategies
• Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and resolve any concerns promptly
• Collaborate with store management and other departments to support overall store success

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience managing a bakery, deli, or other food service. 
• Strong knowledge of baking, deli production, food preparation, and food safety practices
• Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and motivating teams
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational abilities
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
