Job Overview:

The Delivery Manager will report to the Regional Manager. The Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations. The Delivery Manager will be required to fully understand all aspects of the field operations, compliance, build positive relationships with the client and delivery teams, and increase the efficiencies and revenue within their delivery operations. With the leadership and support of the Regional Manager, build capabilities within their teams to execute the overall company's strategy and achieve results for their department(s) today and tomorrow. They work cross-functionally with key partners in our corporate office and client leadership to effectively achieve or exceed goals and produce outcomes in line with the Company’s vision. Experience with appliance and/or furniture installations encouraged to be able to work with independent contractors on scope of work.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manages a fleet of independent delivery contractors.

  • Ensure Compliance standards are met daily prior to tendering routes to our Independent Contractors.
  
  
  • Focus on Independent Contractor Partnerships through weekly meetings to review service, profitability, claims and compliance.
  
  
  • Develop and hold your delivery teams accountable by managing loadouts and monitoring routes throughout the day.
  
  
  • Weekly ride behinds in field with teams to ensure client satisfaction and team development.
  
  
  • Recruitment of New Independent Contractors
  
  
  • Create structured teams skills checks to qualify, maintain, and expand delivery team capabilities and provide consistent service.
  
  
  • Full understanding of appliance and/or furniture installations to be able to validate and redirect improper procedures in home.
  
  
  
  


• Build and grow relationships with client personnel.
  
  
  
  • Communicate effectively and timely with the client.

  • Secure additional delivery routes leading to revenue generation.

• Achieve goals and company policies set forth by the client & Diakon Logistics.


• Participate in Weekly Operations Meetings and client calls.


• Provide Weekly updates on your locations as dictated by the Regional Manager.

Skills/Requirements:

• Proven leadership and motivational skills / Ability to positively impact performance.


• Delivery and installation experience within the appliance and/or furniture final mile industry is preferred.


• Hands-on management approach that shares responsibilities to ensure the customer is served.


• Effective communication skills with awareness of relationship building skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Bilingual with Spanish highly preferred


• Ability to operate in strict time frames environment.


• Ability to operate in a metric-based performance environment and conduct quantitative root cause analysis to implement necessary solutions.


• Strong Excel spreadsheet skills; proficiency in MS Office application.


• Bachelors’ Degree and 2-4 years in the logistics/supply chain field preferred.

Salary:  $60,000-65,000/year, DOE; plus, benefits and potential for bonus
